As the swamp never fully froze during winters, it was possible for swans to stay at Skrunda-1, so they never had a need to leave. Plus, having friendly people around who were ready to feed them with bread helped as well. This one was particularly popular among local population and had even acquired a name – Gosha (Гоша – short from Georgij). Gosha was so fond of the people that it even ate straight from the hand.
